(Alright, here it is. My first review of 2011. Better late than never.) Despite its intriguing premise, Season of the Witch is an uneven, mostly forgettable film not because it is horrible, but rather because it feels uneven.

With Tangled, Disney returns to its roots with a story of a traditional princess, a reluctant hero, and a wicked witch and although many are tired of this old formula, if anyone can do it right it’s Disney.

Secretariat follows a specific formula, but in the process creates a surprisingly good film. It is simple to predict what will happen, especially considering the real-life origin of the story, but keeps your interest through great acting and direction.

With over 500 million active users per day, Facebook is the second most popular site on the web, trailing Google alone. I think we all know first-hand how popular the social network is, but thismovie isn’t about that. David Fincher’s The SocialNetwork tells the story an angry hacker with a genius idea and how Facebook not only came into existence, but also caused him to destroy the only real friendships he had.
